Petroleum Safety provides report following audit of coslinnovator

The Petroleum Safety Authority Norway (PSA) has conducted an audit of COSL Drilling Europe A/S (CDE). The audit activities covered drilling, well technology, logistics and preparedness disciplines, as well as systems in connection with helicopter decks.

The audit was carried out through meetings with the management in CDE’s offices at Forus on 17 November and 12 December 2011, as well as verifications on board the COSLInnovator facility at the construction site CIMS Raffle in Yantai in China during the period 12 – 15 December 2011.

Background
The audit is part of the PSA’s processing of CDE’s submitted application for an Acknowledgement of Compliance (AoC) for COSLInnovator.

Objective
The objective of the audit was to follow-up the quality of implemented compliance verifications as regards technical conditions and management systems and to verify that certain areas of the facility were built in accordance with applicable requirements in the petroleum regulations.

Result
The audit identified several nonconformities and improvement items. These are described in more detail in the audit report.
