The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate has granted Statoil Petroleum AS a drilling permit for well 15/3-10, cf. Section 15 of the Resource Management Regulations.

Well 15/3-10 will be drilled from the Deepsea Bergen drilling facility in position 58°49’ 09.04’’ north and 01°52’ 02.38” east.

The drilling programme for well 15/3-10 relates to the drilling of an appraisal well in production licence 025. Statoil Petroleum AS is the operator with an ownership interest of 36 per cent. The other licensees are Neptune Energy Norge AS (25 per cent), OMV (Norge) AS (24 per cent) and Repsol Norge AS (15 per cent). Production licence 025 in the central North Sea was awarded on 23 May 1969 (2nd round).

The area in this production licence consists of parts of blocks 15/2, 15/3 and 15/6. The well will be drilled just southeast of the Gudrun field. This is the eighth exploration well to be drilled in the production licence.

The permit is contingent upon the operator securing all other consents and permits required by other authorities before the drilling activity commences.
